“The Poor Will Always Be With You”

PART I – Who Are They?

Most of us are familiar with this verse from John 12. But what does it mean and how does it affect our lives? Is it an excuse to pass them by (like the priest and the Levite in the parable of the good Samaritan) because they will never change and always be with us? Jesus teaches otherwise, and even describes how OUR TREATMENT OF THE POOR HAS ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES FOR EACH OF US.

The poor includes people who have fallen on hard times, some who lost their jobs and are unable to find work, some are unable to work, some are ne’er-do-wells who will not work, some are drug addicts or alcoholics, and some have hearts hungry for love and truth.  Our responsibility is to be sowers of God’s truth and love, then let God sort them out; that’s His job, not ours.

Do you know anyone as a friend who is poor, with limited or no financial resources? In recent months, I have come to know three limited resource persons (described as “poor” by our society). It has opened up a new awareness of their life experiences, how they live, what they value, and even their religious beliefs. Realizing that this is from a limited number of people, the following is what I have learned.

Limited Resource Persons (my preferred term to “poor”):

  • Have life crises, just like you and me, but with limited or no safety net and support network.
  • May be just one crisis away from losing a job and homelessness (severe illness, car breaks down, family crisis requiring them to care for a loved one at home, etc.) People with resources can typically handle crises more easily.
  • Make unwise (and often sinful) decisions, just like the rest of us, but the stakes are higher because they don’t have the resources to recover.
  • May have serious health issues that are unattended to.
  • Experience more crime because they can’t afford to live in nicer, safer areas.
  • May have been homeless for a time, but did not stay that way.
  • Have a short time horizon, as short as 24 hours. It is hard to plan for the future on an empty stomach.

How Did They Get That Way? Often a mix of:

  • a terrible home life that did not prepare them with life skills, attitudes, habits, and relationships necessary to function in the working world,
  • unwise (and often sinful) decisions they made, or people around them making unwise decisions that directly affect them,
  • having bad breaks – they get cancer, their employer goes bankrupt, etc.
  • experiencing physical, mental, or sexual abuse growing up, which traumatized their souls, their lives, and how they relate to other people,
  • relying on alcohol and drugs to numb the pain and suffering in their lives. and
  • often have several interrelated, intractable problems (called wicked problems) – they can’t keep a job because their vehicle breaks down, but they can’t afford a reliable vehicle because they don’t have the money (because they can’t keep a job) and on and on.

How God Sees Limited Resource Persons

Society says these people are addicted, but our Lord sees them as afflicted.  They are sinners, just like you and me, and they need the Lord – the truth and love of Christ. When we focus on their sin and shortcomings, we will not see their pain, loneliness, and suffering. And if we have not walked in their shoes, it is difficult to truly grasp what they are struggling with on a daily basis.

Limited resource persons may be Spirit-led Christians who effectively witness to many people you or I may never encounter. The three limited resource friends I know are the most fervent and effective evangelists that I know. They are materially poor but spiritually rich, and share their spiritual wealth freely with everyone who comes across their path. They are real missionaries, reaching people with the good news of Christ – people we will likely never meet, but all loved by God.

True Riches and True Poverty

This takes us to another level, seeing how Christ looks at poverty – true poverty. In Revelation 3, Christ spoke (through John) to the church of Smyrna, the persecuted church: “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich)”. He then spoke to the Church of Laodicea (the lukewarm church), saying: “Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich.”

Jesus describes how we can be materially wealthy but spiritually poor (true poverty) and therefore are on the broad path that takes us to the Lake of Fire. Jesus sent out the disciples 2 by 2, without any money. So they would have been poor in the eyes of the world, but they carried true riches with them – the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven that do not feed the body, but feed the soul unto eternal life. In Acts 3:6, Peter stated to a lame man: “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” The lame man was healed, “and entered the temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God.” Acts 3:8

Limited resource persons are image bearers of God, and God tells us to care for them as He cares for us. In Matthew 25, Jesus, spoke to His disciples about the hungry, the thirsty, the strangers, and those in prison: “‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:31-40

So how we relate to the poor is a serious matter. In Part II we will discuss ways we can respond to them. In the meantime, reach out to them as you can, for time is short and we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Time is Short; The Value of Time

Imagine there is a bank which credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you failed to use during the day.

What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course! Well, everyone has such a bank. Its name is TIME. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, the loss is yours.

There is no going back. There is no drawing against “tomorrow”.
You must live in the present on today’s deposits. Invest it so as to
get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success! The clock is
running, so MAKE THE MOST OF TODAY.

To realize the value of ONE YEAR, ask a student who has failed a
grade.
To realize the value of ONE MONTH, ask a mother who has given birth
to a pre-mature baby.
To realize the value of ONE WEEK, ask an editor of a weekly
newspaper.
To realize the value of ONE DAY, ask a daily wage laborer who has
kids to feed.
To realize the value of ONE HOUR, ask the lovers who are waiting to
meet.
To realize the value of ONE MINUTE, ask a person who has missed
the train.
To realize the value of ONE SECOND, ask a person who has avoided
an accident.
To realize the value of ONE MILLI-SECOND, ask the person who has
won a silver medal in the Olympics.

Treasure every moment that you have! And treasure it more because
you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with them.
And remember that TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE.

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow a mystery.
Today is a gift. That’s why it’s called THE PRESENT.

And finally, what happens WHEN WE RUN OUT OF TIME? We will be standing before the sovereign, living God of the universe, and asked why we did not choose Jesus as our Lord and Savior, even though we had many opportunities to do so? We will be staring at two paths into eternity and our course will already be set – to join the heavenly host or head for the Lake of Fire.

So let us seek the Lord with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, for time is short, eternity is a very long time, and we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

P.S. Speaking of RUNNING OUT OF TIME, be sure to check out this blog post: “If You Took the Vax, Your Health is in Danger (PART I)”. You see it here: https://bit.ly/IfYouTooktheVaxPARTI.

I Really Miss Her

I see her only once a week, and then for only about one to two hours.
Sometimes during that time she might say something to me, but usually it is something she says every week, something memorized.

For the most part, she doesn’t even know I’m there. The rest of the week she doesn’t speak to me at all. She leads a very busy life and there always seems to be other things more important to her than visiting with me. I miss her terribly. What hurts most is she is my bride to be.

We seem to be drifting further and further apart. When we first met, our hearts were filled with love and we would talk for hours on end.

But something happened along the way – her interest in me began to fade. She says she still loves me but her visits have become farther apart. Sometimes, she doesn’t come visit me except for a few days a year, usually Christmas and Easter. I miss her so!

If you see her, will you tell her how much I miss her and my love for her will never end. Thank you.

What? Oh, how will you recognize her? It’s easy, she looks just like…………..YOU!

Eternally,
Jesus

THIS IS A LOVE LETTER FROM JESUS TO THE BODY OF CHRIST, HIS BRIDE. HE INVITES US TO WALK WITH HIM EVERY DAY, TO FALL IN LOVE WITH HIM, AND TO ENJOY HIS PRESENCE – FROM NOW INTO ETERNITY!

The Most Important Call of Your Life

You are about to receive a call that will change your life. A good patriotic American, you support our country, you excel at what you do, and you have always liked adventure.

One day your phone rings, and it is the President of the United States. He tells you that he has heard a lot about you, and is calling to offer a position to you.
You feel deeply honored, and can’t wait to hear what he has to say. He explains that the position is to be an ambassador in a country in on another continent, far from America.

The president continues:
• I want you to go in and establish a presence in this nation; develop relationships, and be a witness to these people about our nation, our way of life, and what we value most about life.
• They have a different culture and worship many gods. So I want you to be on guard against it, and do not embrace it as your own (don’t go native).
• We have a window of time before their government turns against us totally, so I am sending you in to do important work.
• This is a dangerous mission and your life may be in danger, but I will support you all the way.

This might be the most important call of your life. So what do you think? Would you take this call and accept this assignment?

NOT A CALL, BUT A CALLING

Ring ring. You are now receiving another call, but it is not on your phone or from the President of the United States. It is a call from the sovereign, living God of the universe, calling you to serve as an Ambassador of Christ from the Kingdom of God to the U.S. and to the world.

The position description is similar to the one above, except you will be representing the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, not merely the President of the United States. And you will not merely be seeking to establish good will; you will be sharing a life-saving message – the love and truth of Christ – with lost souls who do not know the Lord.

The Holy Spirit explains that although there is danger in this position, He has your back and will be with you all the way, guiding you, protecting you, and opening doors for you to do His work.

So what do you think – would you take the call and accept this assignment? If you do, it will be the most important thing you will ever do in your life, and you will never be the same.

We Are Not Here by Chance, and He Is Sending Us Out

We are not here by chance, but for such a time as this (Esther 4:13-14). We are called, equipped, and sent forth into battle – spiritual battle, to reach the lost with His Truth, Love, and Compassion. We need to start the day on our knees before God, praying and feasting on His Word. Then we are to put on our spiritual armor (Ephesians 6), and go forth to reach those He brings across our path. When we surrender to Christ and seek His guidance, we will see the Holy Spirit work through us, bearing much spiritual fruit and even miracles.

We will only experience His Joy – the joy of the Lord, when we discern His will for our lives and carry it out with gladness in our hearts. So we need to stand strong, be bold, and be courageous. We are to be the man or woman He has called us to be, and speak His Word and His Truth with love and compassion.

He brings people into our lives for a reason and a season. We are to discern the reason (from the Holy Spirit), but typically we will not know the length of the season, for things are happening fast in the world, and we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Time is short, and He is leading us on a great spiritual adventure. It is truly exciting, it is the most important thing we have ever done in our lives, and we will never be the same.

It is time for us to buckle up, go forth, and enjoy the ride. And then He will bring us home. God loves us more than we can imagine, and He can’t wait to welcome us home through the gates of heaven.

So let us go out with GODFIDENCE, walking and speaking as if God sent us, because He has!

World War III is Coming – PART I

This blog post will focus on one of the most pressing issues in the world now – the Russian – Ukrainian war, its spread to the West, and how to prepare. To gain insight into what is coming soon and how to prepare, take a look at this issue of Life in the Spirit.

In I Chronicles 12:32, the sons of Issachar were commended for understanding the times and knowing what they should do. So let us be like them, seeking understanding of the times and what we should do to live at this time and serve our Lord.  As in all things, question everything and take it to the Lord for confirmation.

Finally, there was much speculation about the eclipse that took place earlier this year. For a report on what really happened on that day, click here.

This blog is for the remnant Bride of Christ and all who seek The Truth. You won’t want to miss it.

Blessings on your day,

Mark

What Really Happened on the April 8, the Day of the Eclipse

What I saw on the morning of April 8 was very unusual and even a little scary, particularly in light of warnings from several watchmen and women in previous days. I don’t know all of what happened on that day, but I can report what I saw and documented by taking pictures.

As you know from  The Eclipse is a Warning to America – Stay Inside!, many watchmen spoke of the eclipse as a warning from God, and that on that day, planes would be spraying chemicals in the air that would contain some kind of bioweapon. They also reported that the effect of these chemicals would not be experienced immediately, but would take some time to manifest.

This is confirmed by this article:  Pilot Testifies Bill Gates Spraying ‘Air Vax’ mRNA on Humanity via Chemtrails, which makes these key points:

  • According to a commercial airlines pilot who has come forward to blow the whistle on chemtrails operations in North America and Europe, Bill Gates is spraying airborne mRNA on dense urban populations and rural areas with low vaccine uptake.
  • According to pilots familiar with the scheme, the new airborne mRNA, known as Air Vax, is designed to deliver the vaccine right into people’s lungs, bypassing the need for injections – and the need for consent.
  • As the globalist elite find it harder to convince humanity to submit to Covid mRNA shots and endless boosters, they are having to find deceitful new ways to force their mRNA on us.

Chemtrails – chemicals sprayed into the atmosphere to alter the climate – have been going on for many years. This is not a conspiracy theory, but a well documented fact. You can learn more about them here at Geoengineering Watch. I would add that on more than one occasion I have seen a plane leaving a long chemtrail and not too far away in the sky is another large plane flying LEAVING NO CHEMTRAILS. So it is not a matter of atmospheric conditions, or they would have the same effect.

The picture below is a picture I took on the morning of April 8, of the day of the eclipse. Although the picture doesn’t show it because of the trees, I counted EIGHT chemtrails in the sky. I have NEVER seen more than perhaps three chemtrails in the sky. HOW CAN WE EXPLAIN THIS, for this to take place on the very day of the eclipse?

Isn’t this exactly what we would expect to see if the chemtrail spraying was to take place ON THE DAY OF THE ECLIPSE?  What are the odds that this happen by chance? One in a thousand? (That would be one in three years, and I haven’t seen it for at least 30 years.)  I have NEVER seen this before. HOW CAN WE EXPLAIN THIS?

One more thing – I went out to look at the sky one hour later, and all of the chemtrails had dissipated into clouds. So if a person had not looked up at the sky until an hour after the planes flew over our area, THEY WOULD NEVER HAVE SEEN THE CHEMTRAILS.

Like the moon covering the light of the sun during the eclipse, there is a veil of deception and darkness covering the light and truth of the Son of God in America. But as the moon moves on and the light of the sun returns, we need to let the light, the love, and the truth of the Son of God shine through us to enlighten the darkness embracing our nation and the many souls who don’t know our Lord.

But we must first seek our Lord, repent of our sins, forgive others, and seek Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. And when we do, we will become spiritually clean. And He will then guide us and direct us, as He promises in His Word:

As tragic events unfold, always remember that God loves us and does not want any to perish. So let us go forth with the love and truth of the Lord to reach all who do not know the Lord, for time is short, eternity is a very long time, and we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

GREAT QUESTIONS ARE WINDOWS INTO THE SOUL, PART II

This is PART II of Great Questions Are Windows Into the Soul – how we can take “nice” conversations to a deeper level that touches the other person’s soul, and provide an opportunity to share the love and truth of Christ. Always remember that a true conversation is an interchange, so any question should be followed by listening and responding. PART I started with these questions: I. How Are You? II. Who Are You? And III. What Were the Defining Moments in Your Life? This PART II continues with the questions that follow.

IV. What Do You Think About God?

When you die and pass through the veil of death into eternity, what do

you think you will see and experience?  How does that make you feel?

If you visited heaven, what do you think you would find?

If you visited hell, what do you think you would find?

What do you think about God? Is He your friend?

What do you think He wants from you?

What do you want from Him?

How do you see Jesus?  What do you think it would have been like to

be around Him when He walked on the earth?

Why do you think Jesus died on the cross?

Do you spend time with the Lord in His Word and prayer every day?

Do you realize that reading the Bible and participating in worship are

divine encounters with the sovereign, living God of the universe?

Do you pray daily? Constantly? What do you think it means to pray

constantly?

Why do you think the Word of God says it is a narrow gate and

difficult path which leads to eternal life in heaven, and there are few that find it?

How can we stay on the narrow path?

V. How is the Lord Working in Your Life?

Have you ever seen the hand of the Lord in your life or sensed His

presence?  What was it like?

How is the Lord working in your life? What is He teaching you?

Do you realize that, as a Christian, the Holy Spirit dwells within you,

and seeks a personal relationship with you?

How does that make you feel?

Do you believe we can discern the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit

and be nurtured, taught, and guided by Him each day?

Do you look for the divine appointments God has for you each day?

Do you understand why God, who is a God of love, allows pain and

suffering?

Which do you think is most likely to draw people to the Lord: worldly

success or great trials and tribulation?

VI. What is Your Life Purpose and Calling?

Do you know the Lord’s calling on your life – the unique and special

purpose for which you were created?

Are you fulfilling His calling upon your life? If not, what is holding you

back? SO WHAT?

What are you holding on to that you need to let go of so you can be

spiritually clean and free to live life in the Spirit?

How do you perceive other people? As possible friends? Lost souls?

Potential brothers or sisters in the Lord?

What else would you like to say?

How can I pray for you?

GREAT QUESTIONS ARE WINDOWS INTO THE SOUL, PART I

One of the greatest challenges for Christians is how can we take “nice” conversations to a deeper level that touches the other person’s soul. We can do this by asking great questions.

I. How Are You?

How are you?

What is happening in your life?

What brings joy into your life?

What is the cry in your soul at this time?

II. Who Are You?

Who are you and how did you end up here?

What is your story? You can then tell them your story, and HIS

(Jesus’s) story.

Is there a song, book, or movie that describes your life?

What really makes you come alive?

III. What Were the Defining Moments in Your Life?

Have there been DEFINING MOMENTS – turning points in your life when you gained some new insight or experienced a radical change that changed the direction of your life? What were they?

IV. What Do You Think About God?

When you die and pass into eternity, what do you think you will experience?  How does that make you feel?

What do you think about God? Is He your friend?

What do you want from Him?

What do you think He wants from you?

How do you see Jesus?

Do you spend time with the Lord in His Word and prayer every day?

VI. What is Your Life Purpose and Calling?

Do you know the Lord’s calling on your life – the unique and special

purpose for which you were created?

Are you fulfilling His calling upon your life? If not, what is holding you

back? SO WHAT?

How can I pray for you?

ONE OF THE GREATEST TRAGEDIES OF ALL TIMES

One of the greatest tragedies of all time is the many people who believe they are going to heaven when they die, but end up in the Lake of Fire:

Here are four warning signs that we all should watch for, described as questions the Lord may ask us when we stand before Him after we pass from this earth:

Warning Sign #1: UNIVERSALISM – EVERYONE IS GOING TO

HEAVEN

“You believe everyone is going to heaven, even those who refuse to repent of their many sins and also reject Me – God the Father, My Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. You do not know Me, and have no place in the Kingdom of Heaven:”

Warning Sign #2: UNFORGIVENESS

“You refused to forgive (this person) in your life, so why should I forgive you? My Son Jesus spoke of this in Matthew 6:14-15”:

Warning Sign #3: UNREPENTANCE

“You worship other gods, such as wealth, status, pleasure, lust, and power, and are unrepentant. Why should I let you bring your sin and idolatry into heaven which is holy and without sin?”

Warning Sign #4: LUKEWARMNESS

“You belong to the Church of Laodicea, a church known for comfort, prosperity, wealth, and leisure; a lukewarm, spiritually stagnant, church in the midst of people with great physical and spiritual needs. Why should I let you in while your soul is polluted with the world and worldly desires?

These warnings follow the post “Each of Us is Going to Court” (https://tinyurl.com/EachGoingtoCourt), which describes how each of us will one day pass through the veil of death and be judged by the sovereign, living God of the universe in the Great Courtroom of Heaven:

The warnings are particularly relevant when we reflect on this sober warning that few there are that find the narrow gate and path which leads to heaven:

So let us reach out to those who come across our path with the love and truth of Christ, for life is short, eternity is a very long time, and we are not guaranteed tomorrow.
